Thanks to the City of Dallas and our friends at The Dallas Farmers Market, Farmers Assisting Returning Military (F.A.R.M.) is developing a downtown educational FARM Urban Park. The veteran built and operated two-acre park is located within the Dallas’ Farmer’s Market District. The FARM Urban Park will be working closely with the Dallas Farmer’s Market. The park will provide a beautiful green space for visitors to enjoy a refreshing and relaxing atmosphere while benefiting from educational farming activities. It will serve as a valuable resource for schools and colleges, as well as educating the public about sustainable food systems. The park will be a conduit for veterans transitioning into civilian life with a rehabilitation and reintegration program provided by F.A.R.M.
Veteran’s tutorials on sustainable farming practices, nutritional awareness, growing classes, demonstrations, and much more are planned services and activities to be conducted by F.A.R.M. in the new Urban Park.
Veterans and their peers will be surrounded by a learning-rich environment where they receive the training necessary to move on to their next mission, careers in agriculture.
F.A.R.M. seeks to foster a sense of purpose in the lives of veterans by leveraging their leadership and team building skills to make a difference for themselves and their community.
